WEDNESDAY , FEBRUARY 12 , 1992/MAGHA 23 , 1913 Separate Paging is given to this Part in order that it may be filed as a separate compilation MINTSTR.Y OF ENVIRONMENT AND FORESTS NOTIFICATION New Delhi , the ]2th February , 1992 G.S.R . 95 (E):—In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 6 ani 25 of the Environment (Protection) Act , 1986 (29 of 1986) , the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Environment (Protection) Rules , 1986 , namely:— 1 . (1) T'us; rules miy be called the Euvironment (Protectio.i) Amendment Rules , 1992 . They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette . 2 . Tn rub 3 of ths Environmsnt (Protection) Rules , 1986 , after sub-rale (5) , the following sub-rules shall be added , namely: "(6) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-rule (3) , an industry , operation or process which has commenced production on or before 16th May , 1981 and has shown adequate proof of atleast commencement of physical w oil for establishment of facilities to meet the specified star dards within a time-bound programme , to the satisfaction of the concerned State Pollution Control Board , shall comply with such standards latest by the 31st day of December , 1993 . Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-rule (3) or sub-rule (6) an industry , operation or process which has commenced production after the 16th day of May , 1981 but before the 31st day of December , 1991 and has shown adequate proof of at least commencement of physical work for establishment of facilities to meet the specified standards within a time-bound programme , to the satisfaction of t h« concerned State Pollution
