In order to contain and reduce the generation of such plastic waste and maintain the environment, the Administration has decided that henceforth no packaged drinking water bottles, disposable polystyrene food service cups/plates, plastic straws, cutleries etc., shall be used in any of the meetings, seminars, workshops and functions of the Administration, Central Government Organizations/Agencies, including Defence Establishments, Local Bodies, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) of the Administration/Government of India in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. All Departmental Heads and others concerned are hereby directed that the above instructions are faithfully followed in letter and spirit to help keep the Islands clean and free from plastic. Further they may submit compliance report to Member Secretary, ANPCC every quarter.
