No_ 225/2017/No. 16-34/DSWISC-PIL-SB/2013.~In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 110 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act; 2015 (2 of 2016) read with Section 2(59) thereof; the Lt: Governor (Administrator) , Andaman & Nicobar Islands hereby makes the following Rules, namely CHAPTER - | PRELIMINARY 1. Short title and commencement: 1) These rules may be called the A&N Islands Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Rules, 2017 . (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette_ 2. Definitions: (1) In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires, "Abandoned' means an unaccompanied and deserted child who is declared abandoned by the Committee after due inquiry; "Act" means the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) of Children Act; 2015 (2 of 2016); as amended by the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Amendment Act; 2016,; "Authority" means the Central Adoption Resource Authority constituted under Section 68 of the Act; (iv) "Case Worker" means a representative from a registered voluntary or non-governmental organisation who shall accompany the child to the Board or the Committee and may perform such tasks as may be assigned to him by the Board or the Committee; "Child Adoption Resource Information and Guidance System" means an online system for facilitating and monitoring the adopti
