(1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Marine Fishing Regulation (Amendment) Act, 2016 It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint In the long title to the Tamil Nadu Marine Fishing Regulation Act, 1983 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), for the expression "in the sea along the whole or part of the coastline of the State". the expression "and for the protection and conservation of fishery resources in the sea along the whole or part of the coastline of the State and for matters connected therewith" shall be substituted.
