BE it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Sixtysecond Year of the Republic of India as follows:- (1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Marine Fishing Regulation (Amendment) Act, 2011 (2) It shall come into force onsuch date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint Short title and commencement Tamil Nadu Act 8 of 1983 2. In section 3 of the Tamil Nadu Marine Fishing Regulation (Amendment) Act, 1983 for clause(g), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:- (g) "mechanized fishing vessels" means a ship or boat fitted with mechanical means of propulsion having an engine of not less than twenty Horse Power but not more than one hundred and fifty Horse Power and measuring in length not less than ten metres and less than twenty metres, but does not include a deep sea fishing vessels, and a " deep sea fishing vessels" means a ship or boat fitted with mechanical means of propulsion having an engine of more than one hundred and fifty Horse Power and measuring in length not less than twenty metres; " .
