In the Principal Act, for section 31 and the entries relating thereto , the following shall be substituted , namely:- " (1) There shall be a Sachiva for a Gram Panchayat appointed by the State Government on such terms and conditions as may be prescribed . The Sachiva shall have authority to supervise all records ot every Gram Panchayatfalling under the jurisdiction of the Gram Panchayat . The Sachiva shall be in charge of the Gram Panchayat and shall discharge such duties and perform such functions as may be prescribed".
