EXTRAORDINARY PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 829, CUTTACK, TUESDAY, JUNE 23, 2009/ ASADHA 2, 1931 DEPARTMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION NOTIFICATION The 6th June 2009 R. O. No.209/2009 — In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (4) of Section 7-C of the Orissa Education Act, 1969 (Orissa Act 15 of 1969), the State Government do hereby make the following Order to regulate the payment of Grant-in-Aid in the shape of Block Grant to Aided Educational Institutions or for any post or to any person employed in such institutions being an Aided College, Aided Junior College or Aided Higher Secondary School as specified hereunder, namely:— Short title, application and commencementʊ (1) This Order may be called the Orissa (Aided Colleges, Aided Junior Colleges and Aided Higher Secondary Schools) Grant-in-Aid Order, 2009. It shall apply to the Aided Colleges, Aided Junior Colleges and Aided Higher Secondary Schools. It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Orissa Gazette . Definitions: ʊ (1) In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires, ʊ (a) "Act" means the Orissa Education Act, 1969, (Orissa Act 15 of 1969); (b) "Aided Educational Institution" means aided Junior College or aided Higher Secondary School and aided Colleges receiving Grant-in-Aid prior to notification of Orissa (Amendment) Act 1994 & in accordance with Grant-inAid Order 1994 and Grant-in-Aid in shape of Block Grant in accordance with Grant-in-Aid Order 2004; (c) "Amendment Act" means the Orissa Education (Amendment) Act, 1994 (Orissa Act 13 of 1994); (d) "Block Grant" means a fixed sum of Grant-in-Aid payable in accordance with the provisions of Para-5 of this Order; (e) "Director" means the Director, Higher Education, Orissa and includes any officer not below the rank of Deputy Director
