No. 5/11/2015-5194/413009/1. -1r. exercise of the powers conferred by section 36 of the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Venaing) Act. 2014 (Ce:1tra1 Act No. 7 of 2014} the Governor of i Punjab is pleased to make the following rules. namely:- .ULES 1 Short title, commancem, rit md application.- (1) These rules may be called the Punjab Street Vendor� (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Rules. 2015. They shall come into force on and with effect from the date of publication in the Official Gazette They sh}lll apply to all the urban areas in the State of Punjab. Definitions.- (1) In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) "Act" means the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014 (Central Act No. 7 of 2014) (b) "Director'' means the Director. Local Government, Punjab; (c) "financial year" means a year beginning on the 1 st April and ending on 31· 1 March; (d) "Form" means a Form appended to these rules: ' ( ) pp (e) "section" means a section of r 'ci Act; (f) "State Government" means th. Government of the Stale of Punjab in the Department of Local Go\'ernmen'; and (g) "urban area" means an area :.1;.:,1g within the jurisdiction of a Municipal Corporation, a Municipal Council or a Nagar Panchayat.
