Thegovernor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of notification no.KN: 5-111/xi-2002-500(7)-2001. dated August 20, 2002 for general information: no.KN: 55-111/xi-2002-500(7)-2001 . dated Lucknow August 20, 2002 In exercise of the powers under clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 9 of the Indian Stamp Act 1899 (Act no 11 of 1899) as amended from time in its application to Uttar Pradesh the Governor is pleased to reduce for the period commencing on April 1 2002 to March 31 2003 the stamp duty chargable under clause (a) of Article 23 of Schedule 1-B of the said Act on the instrumented by the person authorized by the state Government of Uttar Pradesh in favour of the lease of Nazul land for the purpose of converting leasehold right into freehold rights in the said land to the extent of stamp duty chargsable on the amount that exceeds the amount of the consideration set forth in such freehold instruments upto the market value of such Nazul land. Provided that this notification shall not apply to matters relating to granting freehold right in nazul lad by way of aution or invitation of tender. Explanation: For the purpose of this notification the word consideration means the freeold charges and the inttrest thereon if any taken by the person authorized by state Government of Uttar Pradesh for the purpose of converting leasehold rights into freehold rights: By order LalitSrivastwa PramukhSachiv
