Thegovemnor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of notification no,K.N. 5-3338/11-2004-500(32)-2003 dated July 2, 2004 for general information: no,K,N5-5-3338/11-2004-500(32)-2003 dated Lucknow July 2, 2004 In exercise of the powers under clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 9 of the Indian Stamp Act 1899 (Act no. 2 of 1899) as amended from time to time in its application to Uttar Pradesh the Governor is pleased to reduce for the period commencing on April 1,2004 to March 31, 2005 the stamp duty chareable under clause (&) of Article 23 of Schedule 1-B of the said Act on the instrument executed by the person authorized by the state Government of Uttar Pradesh in favour of the lessee of Nazul land for the purpose of converting leasehold rights into freehold rights in the said land to the extent of the of Satamp Duty Chargable on the amound that exceeds the amount of the conderation set foth in such freehold instrument upto the market value of the said Nazul land. Provided that this notification shall not apply to matters relating to granting freehold right in Nazul land by way of auction or invition of tender. Explanation: for the purpose of this notification the word consideration means the freehold charges and the interested thereon if any taken by the person authorized by the state Government of the Uttar Pradesh for the purpose of conerting leasehold rights into freehold rights, By order Rita Sinha Pramukh Sachiv
