S.R . 507(E):—In exercise of the po wers conferred by section 15 of the Government Savings Banks Act , 1873(5 of 1873) , the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to am;nd the Post Office Time Deposit Rules , 1981 , namely:- 1 . (1) These rules may be called the Post Office Time Deposit (Amendment) Rules , 1990 . (2)They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette . 2 . In the Post Office Time Deposit Rules , 1981,- (a) in rule 4,- (i) in sub-rule (1) for the word "deposits " the words "a deposit " shall be substituted; (ii) in Table below sub- rule (2) , against S . No.55 — — Charitable Endow -ment account , under colunm (3) , for the words "one account " the words "one or more accounts " shall be substituted . (b) in rule 5,- (i) for sub-rule (1) the following sub-rule shall bs b ; substituted , namely:- "There shall be only one deposit in an account . The deposit shall be in a multiple of fifty rupees . There is no maximum lira it for the amount of deposit in an account" . 4 (if) in sub-rule (2) , for the words "Each deposit " the words ' 'The deposit " shall be substituted . (c) in rule 6 , in sub-rule (1) for the words "re-deposit the amount in the same or another account , as the case may ba" , ths word s "redeposit the amount in a new account to bs opened " shall be substituted .
