3 The Orissa Gazette & PTT 31 EXTRAORDINARY PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No: 232 CUTTACK, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2009 MAGHA 30, 1930 No. 1415-3-V-(B)-112/2008-FARD: GOVERNMENT OF ORISSA FISHERIES & ARD: DEPARTMENT RESOLUTION The 7th February 2009 Governmenthave been pleased to constitute a State Level Committee on Animal Genetic Resources (SLCAGR) to cha{k out an Action Plan to be adopted by the State for conservation of livestock breeeds for effective implementation of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme "Conservation of Threatened Breeds of Livestock" during the XI Five Year Plan: The Committee will also take note of the existing documentation on characterization and cataloguing of animal genetic resources and take a decision on grouping them into the critical, threatened, watch and recovering categories. The States will then formulate a breeding policy with respect to each livestock species and decide on incetives to be provided for rearing and producing specimens of threatened breeds.
