TO BE PUBLISHED IN THE GAZETTE OF INDIA (EXTRA ORDINARY) PART ILSECTION3 SUB-SECTION (i) MINISTR Y OF FINANCE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC AFFARRS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, dated 3rd May; 2000 G.S.R. 38O(E) In exercise of the powers conferred by section 46 read with the section 39 of the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 (42 of 1999), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules to govern the procedure of authentication of documents, namely 1_ Short title (1) These rules may be called the Foreign Exchange (Authentication of Documents) Rules, 2000 (2) They shall come into force on 1 day of June, 2000 2 Authority for authentication and the manner of authentication of documents Any document received from any place outside India purporting to have affixed, impressed Or submitted thereon or thereto the seal and signature of any person who is authorised by section 3 of the Diplomatic and Consular Officers (Oaths and Fees) Act; 1948 (41 of 1948) to do any notarial acts shall be deemed duly authenticated for the purpose of section 39 of the Act: (R: S: Sharma) Joint Secretary to the Government of India FNo.1/9/EC97
