THE SUPREME COURT LEGAL SERVICES COMMITTEE REGULATIONS, 19961 In eXeTcist' Of the pOwvers Lonferrcd by sectiun 29 of tle Ligal Services Authorittes Act, 1987, the Central Authority hereby makes tht' follvitg regulations, namely: 1. Short title and commencement (I) These regulations may be' called the Supreme Court Legal Services Committce Regulations, 1996. (2) Thcy shall come i1t0 torcc on the datc of their publication in the Official Gazette_ 2. Definitions:_In these Regulations, unless the contexl otherwisu requires (a) Act' means Ilne Legal Services Aulhorities Acl, ?[1987| (39 o [987); (b) "Central Authority' Means the National Legal Services Authorty conslituted under scction 3 of lhc Act; (c) Chairman' means the Chairman of the Supreme Courl Legal Services Committee; (d) Committee" means lhe Supreme Court Legal Service Committee; (c) "legal service advocale' means an advocale who has been assigned any work related to Icgal service; Legal Service Counsel-cum-Consultanl' neans an Advocale appointed A5 legal service Counsel-cum-Consultanl hv Ihe Committee; (g} Member" means the Secretary of the Committee appointed under sub-section (3) of seclion 3A of the Act. 3 General effect of vesting: On and from the dale of commencement ol these regulations; (1) All the assets, liabilities, rights, tille and interesl 01 Ihe erstwhilc Supreme Court Legal Aid Commillee stand transferred Io; and Vesl in, Supreme Court Legal Services Committee; (2) The staff who have been serving under the erstwhile Supreme Court Legal Aid Commitlee shall be deemed to be working for the Supreme Court Legal Services Committee; The Committee shall pay the fee bills submitted by the Lcgal Aid Panel Lawye-s for their professional services and all other dues incurred by and which have been pending befo
