Gazette (Extraordinary), Part4, Section (Ka), dated 14th October, 1997 In exercise of the powers conferred by section 29/-A of the legal services authorities act 1987 ( act number 39 of 1987) the Uttar Pradesh State legal services authority hereby make the following regulations: CHAPTER 1 Preliminary 1- Short title and commencement--(1) These regulations may be called the high court legal services committee regulations, 1997. (2) They shall come into force with effect from the date of their Publication in the official Gazette. 2. Definitions. -- In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires : (a) "Act" means The legal services Authorities Act 1987 : "Aided person" means a person to whom legal aid, legal advice or legal (b) services has been provided in any form; "Chief "Justice" means the Chief Justice of the High Court; (c) "Chairman" means the chairman of the high court legal service committee (d) "Committee" means the high court legal service committee; (e) "Central Authority" means the national legal services authority constituted (f) under section 3; "High Court" means the high court of Judicature at Allahabad; (g) "Legal Service" includes rendering of any service in the conduct of any case (h) or other legal proceeding before any Court or other authority or Tribunal and the giving of advice on any legal matter; "Lok Adalat" means a Lok Adalat organised under chapterVI of the Act; (i) "Member" means a member of the committee; (j) "Rules" means the Uttar Pradesh state legal services authority rules 1996; (k) "Secretary" mean
