No 288/VII-Nyaya-2-732/86 Dated, Lucknow, April 4, 1995 In exercise of the powers under Section 23 of the Family Courts 1984 (Act no. 66 of 1984) the Governor; after consultation with the High Court; is pleased to make the following rules: THE UTTAR PRADESH FAMILY COURTS RULES, 1995 CHAPTER-[ PRELIMINARY Short title and commencement 1. (i) These rules may be called the Uttar Pradesh Family Courts Rules, 1995;. (ii) They shall come into force with effect from the date of their publication in the official Gazette 2. (1) In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires 'Act means the Family Courts Act; 1984 (Act no.66 of 1984); '[(b) 'Appointing authority' means the Governor in relation to the post of a Judge and the Judge or where there are more than one Judge, the Principal Judge, in relation to an officer of the Family Court, and the District Judge of the place where the Family Court is located in relation to other employees of the Family Court: 'Citizen of India' means person who is O is deemed to be a citizen of India under Part II of the Constitution; 'Commission' means the Uttar pradesh Public Service Commission; Governor' means the Governor of Uttar Pradesh: 'Government means the State Government of Uttar Pradesh; 'High Court' means the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad; Post' means the post of a Judge; 'Section' means sections of the Act_ (ii) Words and expressions used but not defined in these rules and defined in the Act shall have the meanings assigned to them in the Act: CHAPTER-II PART-1 APPOINTMENT AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE OF JUDGE Section 4.(6) and 23 (2) (a)] 3 . The appointment of Judge may, with the concurrence of the High Court, be made from any of the following sources; (a) By deputation from amongst persons having held for at least
