" e THE PREVENTION OF MONEY-LAUNDERING . (APPEAL) RULES , 20051 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) and clause (r) and clause (x) of sub-section (2) of section 73 read with section 35 of the Prevention of Moneylaundering Act, t, 2002 (15 of 2003), the Central Government hereby makes the joi:C'wing r ules for the purpose of appeals under the said Act, namely:- 1 . Short title and commericement .-(1) These rules may be called the Prevention of Money-laundering (Appeal) Rules, 2005 . (2)They shall come into force on the date-' of their publication in the Official Gazette . 2 . Definitions. -(1) In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) " Act" means the Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002 (15 of 2003); (b) " Adjudicating Authority" means an Adjudicating Authority appointed under sub-section (1) of section 6 of the Act; (c) " Appellate Tribunal" means the Appellate Tribunal established under section 25 of the Act; (d) " appellant " means an aggrieved person who prefers an appeal before the Appellate Tribunal; (e) " Director" means the Director appointed under sub-section (1) of section 49 of the Act; (f) " Form" means the form appended to these rules; (g) "order" means an order passed by the Director under sub-section (2) of section 13 of the Act or by the Adjudicating Authority- under section 8 of the Act , as the case may be; (h) "Registrar" means the Registrar of the Appellate Tribunal; (i) "section" means a section of the Act . (2) All other words and expressions used and not defined in these rules but defined in the Act , shall have the meaning respectively assigned to them in the Act . 3.
