GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL LEGISLATIVE DEPARTMENT West Bengal Act XXIII of 1986 THE WEST BENGAL TOWN AND COUNTRY (PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT) (AMENDMENT) ACT; 1986. [Passed by the West Bengal Legislature:] [Assent of the Governor was first published in the Calcutta Gazette, Extraordinary; of the ZIst November; 1986.] [2lst November; 1986.] An Act t0 amend the West Bengal Town and Country (Planning and Development) Act, 1979. Vest Ben Ict XIIof 979 WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the West Bengal Town and Country (Planning and Development) Act, 1979, for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Thirty-seventh Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows: 1J This Act may be called the West Bengal Town and Country Short title_ (Planning and Development) (Amendment) Act; 1986. 2. In clause (i) of sub-section (2) of section 4 of the West Bengal Amendment of section 4 Town and Country (Planning and Development) Act, 1979 (hereinafter of West Ben. referred to as the principal Act), for the words Corporation of Calcutta; Act XIII of 1979 the words "Calcutta Municipal Corporation;' shall be substituted. 3. In section 19 of the principal Act; Amendrent of section 19. (a) in sub-section (1), for clause (d), the following clause shall be substituted: ~(d) not more than five persons to be nominated by the State Government of whom (i) two shall be Councillors or Aldermen of the Calcutta Municipal Corporation, 139 The West Bengal Town and Country (Planning and Development) (Amendment) Act, 1986. (ii) one shall bc Councillor or Alderman of the Howrah Municipal Corporation, and (iii) two shall be Commissioners of any municipality within the Calcutta Metropolitan Area: Provide
