THE ASSAM MOTOR VEHICLES TAXATION(AMENDMENT)ACT,1942

An Act further to Amend the Assam Motor Vehicles
Taxation Act,1936.
Preamble, WHEREAs it is expedient further to amend the Assam Motor Vehicles Taxation Act,1936;
AND WHEREAs the Governor of Assam has assumcd to himselfunder thc Proclamation dated section 93 of the Governmcnt of India Act,1935, thc25th December 1941 issued by him under all powersvested by or under the said Act in the Provincial Legislature;
Now,therefore,in exercise of the said powers the Governor ofAssamis pleased to make the following Act.
Short title. 1.(1) This Act may be called the Assam Motor
Commencement.
Vehicles Taxation (Amendment) Act,1942.
(2) It shall come into force on such date as the Governor may, by notification in the official
Extent.
Gazette,direct.
(3)It shall have the like cxtent as the Assam Motor Vehicles Taxation Act,1936.
Amendment 2.In section 12 of the Assam Motor Vehicles of section 12Taxation Act,1936(hereinafter referred to as of ActIX 1936. a tokenshall be deleted.

3.In clause （a)of sub-scction (1) of section 14

Amendment 4.In clause (b)of sub-section (2)of section 22 of section 22 of the said Act the words "or token" shall be ofAssam 1936. the word "or"shall be inserted before the word "receipt' and the commas after the words "notice"and token"where it first occurs, deleted.
