44. PENALTY FOR CONTRAVENTION OF SECTION 25 OR SECTION 26. Whoever contravenes the provision of section 25 or section 26 shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than 1 [one year and six months] but which may extend to six years and with fine.
