Act XXV] 1THE PUNJAB ABOLITION OF WHIPPING ACT, 1957, AB A ACT, OLITI 1957, Punjab Act No. 25 of 1957, AN ACT to provide for the abolition of whippinng asa punishment and to amend the existing State Laws for this purpose. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the Eighth Year of the Republic of India as f ollows This Act may be called the: Punjab Abolition Short title. of Whipping Act, 1957. Abolition Abolition of (1) The punishment of whipping as provided Abolition If at the commencement of this Act any sentence of whipping imposed upon any offender by a Court or other authority under any law referred to in sub-section (1) has not been executed for any reasons, Whether wholly or partially, the offender shall be dealt with in the manner provided in section 395 of the Code of Criminal Proceor partially, the offender shall be dealt with in the manner provided in section 395 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, as if that section had not been repealed by the.
