(EXTRA.), APRIL 28, 2011 53 (VYSK 8, 1933 SAKA) PART-I DEPARTMENT OF LEGAL AND LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS, PUNJAB Notification The 28 th April, 2011 No. 21-Leg./2011.-The following Act of the Legislature of the State of Punjab received the assent of the Governor of Punjab on the 20 th April, 2011 and is hereby published for general information:- THE PUNJAB SECURITY OF LAND TENURES (SECOND AMENDMENT) ACT, 2011 (Punjab Act No. 17 of 2011) AN ACT Further to amend the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the Sixty-second Year of the Republic of India as follows:- (1) This Act may be called the Punjab Security of Land Tenures (Second Amendment) Act, 2011. It shall come into force at once. Short title and commencement. In the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in section 9, in sub-section (I), in clause (vii), at the end, for the sign ".", and word "; and" Shall be substituted, and thereafter, the following proviso shall be added, namely:- Amendment in section 9A of Punjab Act X of 1953. "(viii) has the tenancy for a fixed term, supported by a registered agreement entered into by the landowner and the tenant, and such term has expired." 3.In the principal Act, in section 9-A, after the last proviso, the following proviso shall be added, namely:- "Provided further that the tenant, whose tenancy is for a fixed term, supported by a registered agreement entered into by the landowner and the tenant, and such term has expired, shall not be entitled to the benefit of this section."
