Rules for Grants-in-Aid to the Local Bodies for Capital Works Published vide Notification No. F 10(20) PW/ 63, dated 20-1-1964 RJ714 The Governor has been pleased to issue the following Rules for the payment of grant-in-aid to Local Bodies, through the agency of Public Works Department for Capital Works. Title. -These Rules may be called Rules for grants-in-aid to the Local Bodies for Capital Works. Purpose. Grants-in-aid under these Rules may be sanctioned for capital works of the nature of the construction of roads, drains, stone payments, public urinals and latrines etc., which are of direct public utility, within the area of the Local Body. Extent of Grant. -(i) Upto 40% of the estimated cost of work (s) or the amount shown below on the basis of classification of Local Bodies made by the Director of Local Bodies, whichever is less, may be sanctioned as grants-in-aid:- Class I...........[Rs. 95,000/-] Class II..........Rs. 20,000/ - Class III.........Rs. 15,000/ - Class IV..........Rs. 10,000/ - Class V...........Rs. 7,500/ - (ii) In addition to the amount mentioned in sub-clause (i) above, a sum of Rs. 5,000/will also be admissible to the Local Body which is the District Head quarter and/or comprises, in its area, places of religious importance. Eligibility condition. (1) The Local Body applying for aid must pass and attach a copy of the resolution to the effect that it is ready to meet its share of 60% of the estimated cost of the work . Application for grant-in-aid must be accompanied by detailed estimates duly checked and verified by the Executive Engineer (B & R) or the Assistant Engineer (B & R) duly authorised by him. Grants made during the previous years should have been utilised by the Local Body and certificate of utilisation as provided in Rule 8 below mus
