The Rajasthan Municipalities Accounts Rules, 1963 Published vide Notification No. F. 4(20) LSG/A/57, dated 22-21963, published in Rajasthan Government Gazette (Extraordinary), Part 4-C, dated 1-3-1963 RJ698 In exercise of powers conferred by sections 276, 277, 278, 280 and 282 of the Rajasthan Municipalities Act, 1959 (Act No. 38 of 1959), the State Government hereby makes the following rules namely :- CHAPTER-I Short title and Commencement.- These rules may be called the "Rajasthan Municipalities Accounts Rules, 1963" and shall come into force after one month from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. Repeal and Savings.- All existing rules and orders in relation to matters covered by these Rules shall stand superseded on the coming into force of these rules but the forms and registers used in pursuance of such existing rules and orders shall be continued to be used for the current financial year . Definitions.- In these rules, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context:- (a) "Act" means the Rajasthan Municipalities Act, 1959 (Act No. 38 of 1959). (b) "Board" means Municipal Board and includes Municipal Council. (c) "Chairman" means Chairman of Municipal Board and includes President of Municipal Council. (d) "Competent Authority" means the Government or the Council/Board or any other authority to whom the powers may be delegated by the Government or the Council/Board. (e) "Controlling Authority" means controlling authority appointed tinder section 3 of the Local Fund Audit Act, 1954. (f) "Executive Officer" includes the Commissioner and also the Secretary where no Executive Officer is appointed. (g) "Form" means a form appended to these Rules. (h) "Treasury" means a Government Treasury or Sub-Treasury or a Bank to which the Government
