Appendix - VI REVENUE DEPARTMENT (FORESTS) Notification No. 1122-Ft-58/1195, the May, 1958 In suppression of Punjab Government Notification 1a No. 260-Ft. dated the &uh Feb-, 1945. 5002-D-51/6264, dated the 15th Nov-, 1951 No. 563-Ft-54/485, dated the 31d March, 1955 and. No. 3384-Ft-55/2134 dated the 19th August, 1955. 2. 3_ 4 And in exercise of the powers conferred by section 19 of the Indian Forest Act; 1927 and all other powers enabling him in this behalf; the Governor of Punjab is pleased to declare the strip of Govt. forest o waste lands whether under tree growth or not on either side of all roads, canal and railways in the state of Punjab except those in the Patiala Division described in the following schedule to be protected forest and the provisions of chapter IV and section 68 of the said act to be applicable to them SCHEDULE Name of strip Description and situation Roads AIL P.WD (Building roads_ road side strips and also other PW.D lands in Punjab State transferred to the Forest Department for management. Canals AIl land on either side of P.WD (LE) canals and canal roads including main canal canals branches, distributaries, minors, escapes and forest department for management: The land along the railways tracks and station yards on the Northern Railway transferred to the forest department for management Railways 114 Notification No. 1122-Ft-58/1195 Whereas by Punjab Government Notification No. 1122-Ft-58/1195, dated the 3rd May, 1958 all strips whether under tree growth or not on either side of all road, canals and railways in the State of Punjab except Patiala division as mentioned in the schedule annexed to the said notification have been declared to be protected forests under section 29 of the Indian Forest Act of 1927.
