1. (1) This Act may be called the Deori Autonomous Council (Amendment) Act; 2008. (2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act: (3) It shall come into force at once. 424 THEASSAM_GAZETTE EXTRAQRDNNARY APRIL 4 2008 Amendient of gection 2 1n tbe principal Act in section 2 , after clause following newy (a) - the clause (aa) shall be inserted, namely: - "(aa) Authority" means the Authority as may be notified under this clause by the Goverment or careing out the duties and functions assigaed t it under this Act` Amendment of 3 Becticm SD In the principal Act in section 50 in sub-section (4) for the word "Government" word the Authority" shall be substituted Substitution of section 52 In the principal Act; for the existing fcllowing section 52, the shail be substituted, namely:- "52 Election of members for thc purpose of the General Council and the constituting Village ' Council shall be held by the Authority in consultation with the Government; Amendment of 5 section 57 In the prinicipal Act in section 57, for the word"Commission the word Authority" siall be substituted.
