An Act to amend the Assam State Industrial R eli ef Undertakings (Sp ecial Pr ov ision s) Act, 1984 (Assam Act No. VII of 1984). Preamble Whereas it is expedient to amend the Assam State Industrial Relief Undertakings (Special Provisions) Act, 1984, hereinafter referred to as the iil A ) , principal A ct; the It is hereby enacted in the Fortieth Year of Republic of India as follows : — Short title, extent and commencement. Amendment of Section 3 of Assam Act VII of 1984 (1) This Act may be called the Assam State Industrial Relief Undertakings (Special g(p Provisions) (Amendment) Act, 1989. It extends to the whole of the State of Assam. It shall come into force at once. In the principal Act, in section 3, — (a) in the proviso, the word " five" between the words "more than " and "years" shall be substituted by the word "ten" . The existing provision shall be re-numbered as sub-section (1) and thereafter, the follow ing shall be inserted as sub-section (2), namely — " (2) The notification under the proviso to subsection (1) may , for sufficient reasons be issued giving retrospective operation' '.
