OF THE GAZETTE OF INDIA , EXTRAORDINARY, Y, DATED THE 24th FEBRUARY, Y, 2000 5 PHALGUNA , 1921 , (SAKA) GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRYOF FINANCE (DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE) NOTIFICATION No . 6/2000 -Central Excise (N . T . ) , dated 24 -2 -2000 . In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Central Excise Rules , 1944 (1 of 1944) , the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Excise Rules , 1944 namely:- 1 . (1) These rules shall be called the Central Excise (First Amendment) Rules , 2000 . They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette . 2 . In the Central Excise Rules , 1944 , -(i) in rule , 100G -(a) in sub-rule , in the second proviso , for the figure and letters " 11 . 00 A . M . " , the figure and letters " 2 . 00 P . M . " shall be substituted; (b) in the sub-rule (3) , for the figures and letters " 11 . 00 A . M . " , the figure and letters " 2 . 00P . M . " shall be substituted; (ii) in rule 224 , -(in sub-rule (2) , in the second proviso , for the figure and letters " 11 . 00 A . M . "" the the figure and letters " 2 . 00 P . M . " shall be substituted; (b) in the sub-rule (2A) , for the figures and letters " 11 . 00 A . M . " , the figure and letters " 2 . 00P . M .
