Notification No . 8/2000 -C . E. E. (N . T. T. ) , dated 1 -3 -2000 . Notification under Section 11 AB -Interest on delayed payment of duty . -In exercise of the powers conferred by section 11AB of the Central Excise Act , 1944 (1 of 1944) and supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance number 34/96 -C . E . (N . T . ) , dated 9thOctober , 1996 , the Central Board of Excise and Customs hereby fixes the rate of interest at twenty-four per cent per annum for the purposes of the said section .
