GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL LEGISLATIVE DEPARTMENT West Bengal Act IX of 1984 THE WEST BENGAL COUNCIL OF HIGHER SECONDARY EDUCATION (AMENDMENT) ACT; 1984. [Passed by the West Bengal Legislature._ [Assent of the Governor was first published in the Calcutta Gazette, Extraordinary of the 4th April, 1984.] [4th April, 1984.] An Act to amend the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education Act, 1975. West Ben. Act VIIIof 1975_ WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education Act, 1975, for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Thirty-fifth Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows: 1. (1) This Act may be called the West Bengal Council of Higher Short title Scondary Education (Amendment) Act; 1984. and commence (2) It shall be deemed t0 have come into force on the I6th ment day of January, 1984. 2. In section 4 of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Amendment Education Act; 1975 (hereinafter referred to of section 4 a8 the principal Act), of West Ben_ Act VIIof (1) in sub-section (1), 1975_ (a) for clause (c), the followi ing clause shall be substituted: "(c) the Director of School Education, West Bengal, ex-officio; (b) in clause (k); (i) for the words "tthe University of Burdwan the words "the Court of the University of Burdwan shall be substituted; (ii) for the words "such University" the words *such Court" shall be substituted; 79 The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (Amendment) Act; 1984.
