No.11-3/83-STU Government of India Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Department of Agriculture and Cooperation) New Delhi, dated 25th September 1985 THE FERTILISER (CONTROL) ORDER 1985 ORDER G.S.R. 758 (E). In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955), the Central Government hereby makes the following Order, namely 1. Short title and commencement This Order may be called the Fertiliser (Control) Order, 1985. It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Definitions In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires: (a) "Act" means the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955). (aa). Biofertiliser means the product containing carrier based (solid or liquid) living microorganisms which are agriculturally useful in terms of nitrogen fixation, phosphorus solubilisation or nutrient mobilization, to increase the productivity of the soil and/or crop/ "certificate of source" means a certificate given by a State Government, Commodity Board, manufacturer, + importer, pool handling agency or --as the case may be, wholesale dealer indicating therein the source from which fertiliser for purpose of sale is obtained. "Commodity Board" means the Coffee Board constituted under section 4 of the Coffee Act, 1942 (7 of 1942) or the Rubber Board constituted under section 4 of the Rubber Act, 1947 (24 of 1947), or the Tea Board constituted under section 4 of the Tea Act, 1953 (29 of .1953), or as the case may be, the Cardamom Board constituted under section 4 of the Cardamom Act, 1965 (42 of 1965).
