West Ben_ Act XXXIV of 1994 WHEREAs itis expedientto amendthe West Bengal Municipal Elections Act; 1994, for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in theFifty-first Year ofthe Republic ofIndia, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as followsz 1. (1) This Actmay be called the West Bengal Municipal Elections Short title and (Amendment) Act,; 2000. commence- ment_ (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the ZIst day of February, 2000. 2_ In section 2 of the West Bengal Municipal Elections Act, 1994 Amendment (r) , the following of scction 2 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), after clause of West Ben_ clause shall be inserted: Act XXXIV of 1994.
