WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the West Bengal Municipal Elections West Ben. Act, 1994, for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter appearing; Act XXXIV of 1994_ It is hereby enacted in the Fifty-seventh Year of the Republic of India by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows: _ Short title and 1. (1) This Act may be called the West Bengal Municipal Electicns COIO_ment (Amendment) _ Act; 2006. (2) This section shall come into force at once; and the remaining sections shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification inthe Official Gazette, appoint, and different dates may be appointed for different sections of this Act.
