[Passed by the West Bengal Legislature.] [Assent of the Governor was first published in the Calcutta Gazette, Extraordinary, of the 12th December, 1988.] [12th December, 1988.] An Act to amend the West Bengal Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1974. WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the West Bengal Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1974, for the purpose and in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Thirty-ninth Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows:- This Act may be called the West Bengal Labour Welfare Fund (Amendment) Act, 1988. In clause (3) of section 2 of the West Bengal Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1974,— (a) after the words "in an establishment", the words ", and includes a sales promotion employee" shall be inserted, (b) in sub-clause (b), for the words "seven hundred and fifty rupees", the words "sixteen hundred rupees" shall be substituted, and (c) the following Explanation shall be added at the end:— 'Explanation.—"Sales promotion employee" shall have the same meaning as in the Sales Promotion Employees (Conditions of Service) Act, 1976;'.
