Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) (Madhya Pradesh) Rules 1975 Bhopal, the 8th December 1975 No. 3816:-XXXIII.- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 64 of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 (No.6 of 1974), the 'State Government, after consuitation with the State Board for the Preven - tion and Control of Water Pollution, hereby makes the following rules, namely:- .. CHAPTER I - PRELIMINARY 1 . Short title and commencement. - (1) These rules may be called the Water (Prevention and Control of Madhya Pradesh Pollution) Rules, 1975. They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the "Madhya Pradesh Gazette." Definitions.- In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires, (a) "Act" means the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 (No. ,6 of 1974); "Chairman" means the Chairman of the State Board; (b) "State Board Laboratory" means a laboratory established or recognised as such under sub-section (2) of Section 17; (c) "State Water Laboratory" means a laboratory established or specified as such under sub-section (1) of Section 52; (d) "Form" means a form set out in Schedule I; (e) "Member" means a member of the State Board and includes the Chairman thereof; (f) "Member-Secretary" means the Member-Secretary of the State Board; (g) (h) "Section" means a section of the Act; (i) "Schedule" means a schedule appended to these rules; (j) "Year" means the financial year commencing on the first day of April.
