No . 2525 -E&T -54/2606 . -In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 17(a) and 24(4) of the Punjab Excise Act (1 of 1914) , and in supersession of a previous notifications issued in this behalf , the Governor of Punjab is pleased hereby to make the following orders prohibiting the import and possession of ganja as an intoxicant :- 1 . These orders may be called the Punjab Import and Possession of Ganja Orders , 1954 . The Punjab Import and Possession of Ganja Orders , 1954 . The import into the State of Punjab and the possession of any quantity of ganja , or any preparation of admixture thereof , within Punjab is prohibited .
