Punjab Import and Possession of Charas Orders, 1955 Published vide Punjab Notification No. 1639-E&T-55/1839 dated 14th July 1955. Republished vide Punjab Government Notification No. GSR 138/PA1/14/Sections 17 and 14/62 dated 9th August 1962 1 These orders may be called the Punjab Import and Possession of Charas Orders, 1955, and shall come into force at once. The following notifications are hereby cancelled 1) Punjab Government Notification No. 4870-EX, dated the 13th November; 1935. (2) Punjab Government Notification No. 4305-EX, dated the 16th October; 1937 . (3) Punjab Government Notification No. 214-EX, dated the 13th January, 1939. (4) Punjab Government Notification No. 266-E &T-50/559,dated the 1Oth February, 1950. The import into the State Punjab and possession of any quantity of classes or any preparation or admixture thereof or of any substance obtained from the Indian hemp plant and used as a substitute for charas by any person within Punjab is prohibited:
