Section 2

[Every Adhyaksha, Up-Adhyaksha, Pramukh Up-Pramukh, officer or servant of] a 1 [Zila Panchayat] or a 1 [Kshettra Panchayat], shall be deemed to be a public servant within the meaning of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, and in the definition of [legal remuneration] in section 161 of the Code, the word [Government] shall, for the purpose of this section, be deemed to include 1[Zila Panchayat] and a 1 [Kshettra Panchayat] .
