STATUTES AMENDING THE EXISTING STATUTE RELATING TO MODE OF APPOINTMENTS, PAY-SCALES AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSTS OF TEACHERS OF UNIVERSITIES / ADMITTED COLLEGES (Assented to by the Chancellor on 19.11.1980 vide letter no. 5318G.S.(1)dated 25.11.1980). 1. Reservation of posts—The quota for reservation of posts for different categories of persons belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Women, Economically Backward Classes and Extremely Backward Classes shall be as follows:- 1. This "Note" stands deleted and a "Proviso" stands inserted by letter no. 5318-G.S. (1) dated 25.11.1980. Provided that these reservations shall apply only to the posts of lecturers and not to other categories of posts of teachers. Note — Definitions to the aforesaid categories for the purpose of "reservation" shall be in accordance with resolution Nos. 755, 756 and 757 dated 10.11.78 of the Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms of Government of Bihar. 2. In order to ensure appointment of lecturers according to the prescribed reservation of posts the following procedure shall be observed :— (i) Before the beginning of each academic year the University/College shall determine the number of likely vacancies that may occur during the year for recruitment to the posts of lecturers. (ii)Reservation of Posts to the extent prescribed for each category shall be made Faculty wise by taking into account the total number of vacant posts of lecturers in the Faculty. (iii) The advertisement for those posts shall indicate the reservations in favor of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Women, Economically Backward Classes and Extremely Backward Classes candidates who are considered fit.
