Pream ble. Whereas it is expedient further to amend (he Assam Stat e Legisl ature Members (Removal of Disq ualifications) A ct, 1950, herein after calle d the principal Act , in the manner hereinaf ter appearing ;
It is here by enacted in the Eighteent h Ye ar o f the
Re pu bli c of India as fol low s:—
(1) Th is Act may be called the Assam Stat e Legislatu re Mem bers (Re mo val of Disqu alifications)

It shall have the lik e exten t as the prin cipa l A ct .
It shall fee deemed to have come into force on
the F irst day of J an ua ry 1962.

Not wit hstand ing such repe al, anythin g done or any actio n t aken unde r the Or din ance as repealed shall be deemed to have been don e or taken under this Act as if this Ac t had commen ced on the Fifteenth d ay of Oc to be r, 1966 (the date o f promulga-
tion of the Or din an ce) .
