THE PROBATION OF OFFENDERS ACT, 1958 AcT No. 20 OF 1958
[I6th May, 1958.] An Act to provide for the release of offenders on probation or after due admonition and for matters connected therewith: BE it enacted by Parliament in the Ninth Year of the Republic f India as follows: 1. Short title, extent and commencement: _ This Act may be called the Probation of Offenders Act, 1958. (2) It extends to the whole of India I***_ (3) It shall come into force in a State on such date? as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint, and different dates may be appointed for different parts of the State. 2.
