MINISTRY OF LAW AND JUSTICE (Legislative Department) New Delhi, the 23rd September, 2020/Asvina 1 , 1942 (Saka) The following Act of Parliament received the assent of the President on the 23rd September, 2020 and is hereby published for general information:— THE INSOLVENCY AND BANKRUPTCY CODE (SECOND AMENDMENT) ACT, 2020 NO. 17 OF 2020 [23rd September, 2020.] An Act further to amend the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Seventy-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:— (1) This Act may be called the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (Second Amendment) Act, 2020. It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 5th day of June, 2020. After section 10 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), the following section shall be inserted, namely:— "10A. Notwithstanding anything contained in sections 7, 9 and 10, no application for initiation of corporate insolvency resolution process of a corporate debtor shall be filed, for any default arising on or after 25th March, 2020 for a period of six months or such further period, not exceeding one year from such date, as may be notified in this behalf: Short title and commencement.
