ASSAM UNIVERSITY ORDINANCES * GOVERNING THE AWARD OF THE DEGREE OF DOCTOR OF SCIENCE (D.Sc.) / DOCTOR OF LETTERS (D.Litt.) v V V \ I. INTRODUCTION 1, These Ordinances shall be called the Doctor of Science (D.Sc.), . 1 i . 1 Doctor of Literature (D.Litt.) Ordinances, 2008 and shall be in effect from the date of approval of the Executive Council. The degree of D.Sc./D.Litt of the Assam University shall be conferred on the candidates who fulfill the requirements as specified in these ordinances. · ' ' II. ELIGIBILITY The objective for the degree of D.Litt. & D.Sc. is to, promote Post Doctoral Research to encourage continuous research among the University teachers & scholars. 9 A candidate seeking admission to D.Sc./ D.Litt . programme of the University, must have pursued outstanding research in the concerned discipline and obtained the minimum qualifications required for admission as mentioned below. The D.Sc. / D.Litt. will be awarded on the basis of the thesis submitted independently by the candidate.
