ASSAM UNIVERSITY ORDINANCES GOVERNING THE AWARD OF THE DEGREE OF DOCTOR OF SCIENCE (D.Sc.) / DOCTOR OF LETTERS (D.Litt) L WNTRODUCTION These Ordinances shall be called the Doctor of Science (D.Sc. ), Doctor of Literature (DLitt ) Ordinances, 2008 and shail be in effect from the date of approval of the Executive Council The degree of DSc IDLitt of the Assam University shall be conferred on the candidates who .fulfill the requirements as specified in these ordinances. HI ELIGILITY The objective for the degree of D,Litt & D.Sc. is to,promote Post Doctoral Research LO encourage continuous research among the University teachers & scholars. A candidate seeking admission to D.Sc / DLitt progranumne of the University, must have pursued outstanding research in the concerned discipline and obtained the minimum qualil fications required for admission a8 mnentioned below 2 a) The D.Sc. DLitt. will be awarded on" the basis of' the thesis submitted independently by the candidate. 6) The candidate shall not submit any work for which 3 degree has already been conferred on him/her.
