THE UNIQUE IDENTIFICATION AUTHORITY OF INDIA (TRANSACTION OF BUSINESS AT MEETINGS OF THE AUTHORITY) REGULATIONS, 2016 1 [Updated as on 15. 5. 2.2024] In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (h) of sub-section (2) of section 54 read with sub -section (1) of section 19 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (18 of 2016), the Unique Identification Authority of India hereby makes the following regulations regulating the transaction of business in the meetings of the Unique Identification Authority of India, namely:— CHAPTER I PRELIMINARY 1. Short Title and Commencement . — (1) These Regulations may be called the Unique Identification Authority of India (Transaction of Business at Meetings of the Authority) Regulations, 2016 (1 of 2016) . (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Definitions . — (1) In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires: (a) " Act " means the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (18 of 2016); (b) " Authority " means the Unique Identification Authority of India established under sub -section (1) of Section 11 of the Act; (c) " Chairperson " means the Chairperson of the Authority appointed under Section 12 of the Act; (d) " Member " includes the Chairperson and Member of the Authority appointed under section 12; (e) " Chief Executive Officer " means the Chief Executive Officer, who shall be Member Secretary of the Authority, appointed under sub-section (1) of Section 18 of the Act; (f) " Meeting " means meeting convened by the Authority as per sub-section (1) of Section 19 of the Act; (g) " Schedule " means a Schedule appended to these regulations.
