Act No. 12 of 1974 THE UTTAR PRADESH STATE LEGISLATURE PROCEEDINGS (PROTECTION OF PUBLICATION) (REPEAL) ACT, 1976 (U. P. Act No. 9 of 1976) [As passed by the Uttar Pradesh Legislature, assented to by the Governor on April 16, 1976 and published in U.P. Gazette extraordinary on April 17, 1976. AN ACT] to repeal the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature Proceedings (Protection of Publication) Act, 1974. IT IS HEREBY enacted in the Twenty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows :– This Act may be called the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature Proceedings (Protection of Publication) (Repeal) Act, 1976. The Uttar Pradesh State Legislature Proceedings (Protection of Publication) Act, 1974 is hereby repealed : Provided that such repeal shall not affect any proceedings, civil or criminal (whether pending immediately before the commencement of this Act or instituted or taken after such commencement) in respect of— (a) any publication referred to in sub-section (1) of section 3 of the said Act, made before such commencement; or (b) any report or matter broadcast, before the commencement by the means referred to in section 4 of the said Act, and accordingly, any such proceeding shall be disposed of as if the said Act had continued in force and this Act had not been enacted. ———
