2 . The Act came into force with effect from the 1st day of Sept., 1951. (Revised by sec. 2 of U.P. Act No. 27 of 1953 . writing by the Commissioner to exercise any of his functions under this Act ; (d) "Factory" has the meaning assigned to it in the Factories Act, 1948 ; (e) "Fund" means the U. P. Sugar and Power Alcohol Industries Labour Welfare and Development Fund constituted under section 3 ; (f) "Housing Board" means the Labour Housing Board constituted under section 10 ; (g) “Prescribed” means prescribed under this Act ; and (h) "State Government" means the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
