WHEREA s it is expedient to amend the West Bengal Municipal Act, 1993, West Ben; Act XXIof 1903, for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Fifty-fourth Year ofthe Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows Short title and 1 (1) This Act may be called the West Bengal Municipal (Amendment) Act; commerenent 2003. (2) This section shall come into forceat once; and the remaining provisions shall come into force on such date as the State Govemment may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint, and different dates may be appointed for different provisions ofthis Act Amendment of 2 In section 21B ofthe West Bengal Municipal Act; 1993 (hereinafter referred section 21B of West Ben Act to as the principal Act); XXI0f1993.
