THE GAZETTE OFNDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PARTIL_Sec 301 MINISTRY OF WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT NOTIICATION New Delhi, the 3lst July, 2006 GSR 4SO()-~In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1), read with clauses () to (d) of sub-section (2) , of section 35 of the Commissions for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005 (4 of 2006), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely: 1, Short title and commencement - (1) These rules may be called the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights Rules, 2006. (2) They shall come into force o the date on which the Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act; 20005 (4 of 2006) shall come into force. Definitions - In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires; (a) Act" means the Commissions for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005 (4 of 2006); (b) "'Commission" means the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights constituted under section 3; "Chairperson" means the Chairperson of the Commission; ''Member ' means the Member of the Commission; e) "Member Secretary" means the Member Secretary of the Commission; "tsection" means a section of the Act; words and expressions used and not defined in these Tules but defined in the Act shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in the Act: 3 Eligibility for appointment as Chairperson and Other Members: No person having any past record of violation of human rights or child rights shall be eligible for appointment as Chairperson or other Members of the Commission 4 Member Secretary:- (1) The Member-Secretary appointed by the Central Government under sub- section (1) of section 11 (2) The Member Secretary shall have a minimum tenure of three years [Y_4e30] 4a *1 74A 3&ru 15 5.
