West Ben. Act XXIII of 1981. GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL LAW DEPARTMENT Legislative West Bengal Act XII of 1993 THE BURDWAN UNIVERSITY (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1993. [Passed by the West Bengal Legislature.] [Assent of the Governor was first published in the Calcutta Gazette, Extraordinary, of the 27th August, 1993.] [27th August, 1993.] An Act to amend the Burdwan University Act, 1981. WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Burdwan University Act, 1981, for the purpose and in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Forty-fourth Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows:- 1. (1) This Act may be called the Burdwan University (Amendment) Act, 1993. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint. In section 22 of the Burdwan University Act, 1981,— (1) in sub-section (1),— (a) in clause (b), the word "and" shall be omitted; (b) in clause (c), for the word. "and Technoingy.", the words "and Technology; and" shall be substituted; (c) after clause (c), the following clause shall he inserted:— . "(d) Faculty Council for Post-Graduate Studies in Medicine."; in sub-section (2), after the words "Engineering and Technology", the words "and Medicine" shall be inserted; in sub-section (3), for the words "Faculty Council", the words "The Faculty Council" shall be substituted; after sub-section (3), the following sub-section shall be inserted:— "(3A) The Faculty Council for Post-Graduate Studies in Medicine shall consist of the following members:— (i) the Vice-Chancellor—Chairman; (ii) the Principals of the constituent colleges in which instruction is provided for courses of study in Medicine; Short title and commencement.
